Garden is hanging in there

Over the years I have learned not to plant anything but seeds prior to early June. We have had so many years with late spring snow falls. Those are the most damaging because of the weight of the snow, simply crushes tender perennials. Hence the chair tents I made...hey it works and it's readily available. Hope my neighbours don't' think I trying to grow more chairs!

One year, we had a huge snow storm in early June, after our 30 year elm tree out front get leafed out. We were disheartened to see the huge split down the main trunk with one large branch resting on our roof. It was a sad day when we got in the experts to drop the tree which had been damaged beyond hope. I have yet to replace it, instead enjoying the sunshine in the front of our home!

Making the best of what life throws at us!
