Remembering our Heros

This is one of the few photos I have of my Dad in uniform. Like the rest of his siblings, Dad enlisted in the Army during WWII. Uncle Bob was in the Navy, Aunt Kay in the Women's Army Corp. Sadly my 2 uncles James Hendry Johnston and John Markey Johnston both died overseas while serving. Through the Commonwealth War Graves Commission I have found a bit more about this sad family history.

Saturday will be a special day for us. Joe will wear his medals and blue beret from his UN Peacekeeping tour and we will all be quiet in our thoughts during this uncertain time. Please wear your Poppy with pride -

Lest We Forget

Lovely post, Berta. My father served overseas during World War II, as did several of my uncles.
