Joe & Fred

Today is my best friend's birthday! Joe just happens to be my husband of almost 32 years! The curly hair is gone, the scale is wrong but you my dear, are my true love! I have a few ideas for tonight's celebration a deux, but nothing I'm prepared to blog about!

Fred is slowly revealing himself stitch by stitch. I'm not sure why, but I'm enjoying this project so much. Could it be that the gridding is giving me enough reference points that I'm actually relaxed with this dark project? Maybe it's the fact that I have some cyber friends on Tuesday SAL encouraging me along the way and I don't feel so alone. Whatever it is, it's working! I'm actually thinking about digging out the Northern Lights chart and finding out what floss I'm short! Now that is a huge leap for me...but I won't push it...one black Aida at a time!

Looking good 'berta! I thought working with dark fabric was going to be a PITA as well but I'm loving the wolves at the moment, as long as it is a sunny day and I don't try to do too much.

Congrats on DH's birthday. Have a wonderful celebration.
Your Frederick looks great and you are so right that the griding & SALing make a wonderful difference. I'm not posting a picture this week as yesterday's progress was just a lot of black & red on the last book on the bottom shelf.
Talk to you soon.

Hey Sweetie - thanks for dropping by again.

Awww it's lovely to hear how long you and DH have been together. It's very rare these days - Happy Birthday Joe!

It's amazing what a little preparation can do - it's great isn't it? I know gridding can be a bit of a faff, but it's sooo worth it in the end. 'Fred' is coming along nicely - can't wait to see further progress

Bye for now! x

Happy, happy days to your Joe! Birthdays are my favourite days of the year - & goodness knows that with 7 off-spring, Paul & I get to celebrate often.

Fred's coming along nicely. I agree with the blogging & SAL aids making a difference. Keep up the good work.

Having said that, I'm not doing any stitching of significance at the moment. Our renovations continue. On Tuesday morning, we jackhammered up 80m2 of floor tiles. The dust-factor is killing me! Craft & dust definitely don't mix!
