Huge weight lifted

We plowed through the huge amount of paperwork to get the pstd claim filed. It was a long and heart wrenching process, lots of draft notes quickly scribbled down while the thought was vivid, then a slow but methodical sorting, rewriting and then the final copy.

Amazingly, just having it all packaged up ready to go out in today's mail has lifted the huge weight we have both been feeling. it's like we can breath again. We won't hear anything until the end of the year, but just having it all documented and recorded help us sleep at night. Hopefully it will start a much needed change in the system that is sorely short changing our troops returning from a stressful situation. They put their lives on the lines, their families stay so brave, and they all deserve better than what they are getting. I hope this is as bad as it gets.

Stitching wise, I'm a bit off of Fred. Not sure why! Just kidding. I have a conference early October to discuss Dad's care, and possibly plan what we will do when palliative care is required. And just to keep me on my toes, I've been notified of a court ordered audit! Doesn't that sound like fun! Others may stress over this but this will be my 4th such audit. The one I was holding my breath over was a few years ago after I liquidated all of Dad's things, the biggest being his car and the house and contents! Now that was stress...traveling 7 hours to clean house, and prep for sale while DH was overseas....brrr...I just had a cold chill thinking about it! But I got through it...I'll get through this!

Hope everyone is stitching with no frogging! I'll try and post Fred to date before the weekend. He's looking pretty good, if I do say so myself. I haven't done any of the metallic stitching, saving that for last.

Take care!

Congrats to you both on getting all the paperwork done and in the mail! I shudder to think of all it must entail. Anything to do with the government is usually such a nightmare. I hope your cold is feeling much better!

Oh, such cute pictures of that sweet little guy, I hope you gave him lots of hugs and kisses from all of us!
