Slowing down

I've notice lately that my mind has been racing in all directions and I'm feeling quite run down. I know why for the most part...and I'm feeling that I'm losing bits of me.

I do get a lot of comfort from some great books I'm reading, they give me insight into myself I didn't know existed. I would read all day long if I could!

I am taking steps to reclaiming my spirit. I turn off the television and have found some wonderful no talk all quiet music stations that soothe my mind. I've unsubscribe to some newsletters and bloglines that I wasn't truly enjoying.

My biggest challenge...stepping back from some people who are very draining. Seems they never have had a great day, there's always something to complain about, they whine...need I say more.

I've found instead some incredible folks I call friends, who know when to step back and give me some space and know when I really need a hug. One such person sent me the most beautiful note yesterday. I've read it 3 times so far and she seems to be inside my head and heart and yet, we've never physically met. She's more than a pen pal, she's a kindred spirit. Thank You!

Glad to hear about your positive changes. :) I think everyone needs to step back occasionally and do the same thing.

So happy for you that you are finding time for yourself. Everyone needs it. Maybe now that the festive busy season is over, we can all step back and appreciate each and every day slowly instead of scurrying through at high speed.

Good for you, I "cleansed" myself of a couple of friends who were also very negative influences and I'm so glad that I did.

God Bless!

If there is anyone who deserves extra warm and caring attention at the moment it is you Berta. Good for you to step back from those who are always negative.

Take good care of yourself my friend.

Good for you! It's a hard thing to learn and to keep up. I've caught myself forgetting from time to time but when you reclaim that time for yourself, it's refreshing. Keep it up because you deserve it :o)
