My SIL has his own thoughts on this...OMG NO!!!!! but there you have it...I did it! After years of looking at an ugly railing I finally got the nerve to paint it a beautiful colour by Behr Ultra...Espresso Beans. I love the colour so much I carried it into the main bathroom and painted the vanity. The contrast with the gold walls makes the room seem so much wider.
I have to highly recommend the new line of Behr paint available @ The Home Depot...well worth the extra money...prime and paint at the same time...great when using rich colours or going over a dark colour.

I hate to say it, because I love natural wood, but it looks fantastic! Much better :o)
Thanks. The wood they used was very soft with lots of 'character' ie knots, etc...and the joints were starting to crack making it look tired and unattractive...so...have paint will travel!!!
It looks much better! Sure good wood looks great, but why not beautify if you can?
