Good news

My friend called last night, she was so happy she could hardly talk...it's like a tight band was released from around me. She has yet to speak with her doctor about what happens next, but at least it isn't the Big C.

I have worked out the details on this year's Christmas card design. I knew there was a little something missing, so brought the prototype to my daughter and she suggested something. She was right on target! Now waiting for my supplies to arrive and then I'm off to the races. I'm very excited about it because I haven't coloured in years! Regression is sometimes a good thing!

I'm back to stitching but I've been getting terrible headaches after a few minutes. Today I go for my annual eye exam and I already know I'll be getting a new prescription. I'm going to ask for 2, one for my progressives and another just for close up work. The readers were fine but...I need better. Also I find when I have to do detail work looking up, I can't find the right spot without my head tilted way back in an uncomfortable position. I love one Anne Klein frame and will ask if they can still use it for one pair. Our benefits only cover so much, but it's better than no coverage.

I got my flu shot yesterday. Only had some mild discomfort at the injection site. Found out I may have to wait 30 days before I can get the H1N1 shot...DH goes for his seasonal shot tomorrow on his day off.

We are going forward with gifting DH's brother with some land we decided we aren't going to develop. We discussed this with our girls and they are backing our choice. So it's a win win situation all around. My BIL is a good guy and is looking forward to his retirement days.

All our snow has melted...while we were away but now we are socked in with heavy frosts & fog. I did manage to get some more of the yard cleaned up. Even convinced DH it isn't too early to string the Christmas lights on the tree out back. We had it lit just long enough to find out we needed more lights and a tighter pattern. Tonight's project.

We had a marvelous time at Bolero in Calgary. One of our servers was awesome and even got me a special plate of well done beef which earned him my gratitude and an extra tip in his pocket. DH took a moment on the way out to make sure the Host knew of John's extra effort in pleasing us. It's good to let the boss know when someone has done well.

I have yet to download my camera photos...will post them later today. Until then...!

Sounds like you are keeping busy :o) Can't wait to see your Christmas card design. I had bought cards last year but never got around to using them and since they have a Brie dog on the front, we're not going to use them this year due to what's happened :o( That means card shopping...again!

I'm SO happy to hear the good news about your friend! My doctor's office just called (yes, on a Sunday!) and my mammogram was clean! WOOHOOO!!!!
