Last night's thunderstorm did me a huge favour!

I've only been dragging my feet since last year about getting a suitable outfit for our eldest daughter's nuptials mid July.

Well I spent all of yesterday outside staining...I did the hot tub in a solid grey and then got started on a couple of the smaller sections of deck with a semi transparent grey. Our deck in done in sections so if we ever need to do anything with the hot tub electrical, we can just lift that one smallish piece.

Just as I was relaxing with a cup of tea after getting myself all cleaned up, the thunderheads started to roll in. So out came my tarps and I got all the areas coverage and weighted down. I had every intention of picking up where I stopped in the morning, but things were too wet. So on to plan B.

Plan B began with a touch of make-up (which I very rarely wear...not really 'into' that but hey I thought I should get practiced up). Then I head into town for a haircut which I needed badly. Lately I just cover my mop top with a ball cap and go about my business in the yard. Anyways, the ladies at the shop had fun at my expense...how long has it been since the last cropping????!!! Anyways, I left looking and feeling like a million bucks. So, I decided to push the envelope and look for an outfit.

I went to the shop where I got my last wedding outfit (youngest daughter in '99). There wasn't much selection but the store was empty so I had all the attention of a wonderful saleswoman. I tried of 2 outfits and bought the second one! It's champagne colour with some glitter in the top which has 3/4 sleeves and...ta da...PANTS!!!! That's exactly what I want/need...I will be chasing after an 18 month old at some point in the day/evening. Now to get some slipper style slippers!

Then I popped into W*lly World and picked up a digital photo frame for Dad's birthday next week. As Dad's Alzheimer's Disease is progressing, I thought this would be a suitable gift. He's doesn't speak anymore but i know he loves to look at photos. I'm not sure he will be able to turn it on himself, but I'm sure family members and staff will help him out. Now to sit down and select the photos!

Last week ended on a sombre note which continues into Monday, but despite it all, I've had a wonderful week. I hope you did also!
