Bigger project on the horizon

I received an email request from a dear niece I haven't seen in several years, to organize a family reunion for our Johnston side of the family. I quickly ran through my list of family and found that half live in Ontario and half are out west...either BC or AB. So I sent out a general inquiry email to family to see who would want to attend and who would be able to travel in 2011 for such an event.

Seems some are more than willing to travel, others not so much. It's still very early into this potential event planning, so I have a lot more thinking to do. If you've organized something similar, please let me in on your secrets to a successful gathering. I'd also like to hear what was a total waste of time and resources and what turned out to be a total bust.

I've been working out in the garden...cutting down trees, cleaning up tools etc so my hands are so rough, chapped with ragged cuticles, that I haven't been stitching. Soon, all my fall tasks should be done and I can focus on floss & fabric!

Boy, that will be something to organize. Good luck!

You're just working too hard ;o) You need to sit back and relax. Pumpkin's orders!

if you are doing the planning, keep it closer to you...that way you know exactly what is there, the condition it is...stuff like that...

Jeff planned the TV reunions for both sides of his family 2 years straight and it was a hit...there were lots of E's near Calgary so they would come out for the day and then go home to sleep and comeback out the next day...and it was the biggest turn-out ever...
