What a week!

Wow. I posted on my kitchen chalkboard-November is a month for new opportunities. Little did I know what would soon unfold.

DH got a phone call from a friend he'd worked with off and on the past 9 years...and the next thing we knew we had a house guest. Details can be read at Lil Salmon House

For some unknown reason, perhaps the extended fall weather which really means no snow yet, I feel the need to get busy and active! I picked up Wii's coach in a box and have started working through the program. I'm overweight and out of shape but I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would. I'm also back onto the balance board of Wii Fit. I did not like the numbers but hey, that is my reality. I'll deal with it. My clothes are fitting better this week than last. Progress.

I seem to have shared my head cold with Joe. It's not flu, no aches and pains, fevers or other nasty symptoms. Joe qualifies for the H1N1 shot as of Friday, but he's reluctant to go without me. I will continue to encourage him to protect himself and me by getting it while he can.

I'm handling my head cold better this time because of sinus rinsing. THIS is the one I'm using and I've never had a head so mild and manageable as this one. I rinse in the morning and I can breathe freely all day long. Bonus, I'm not going through half a box of tissues and sporting the Rudolph style red raw nose. I'm not sure this is good for everyone but I'm saying it's working well for me.

Tomorrow our youngest daughter and family arrive for a busy weekend. Lesley & I will be hitting the fabric shops and dusting off the sewing machine and serger. She has a secret project of aprons for her day home kids's Christmas present this year. The kids all love to bake cookies and muffins and they should be outfitted for better results. I think the kids are gong to make up little recipe books of their favorites to give their parents... all are tested and child approved! The guys have something planned...not sure what. Ice is forming on the lake so fishing in now out until the ice is thick enough for ice fishing. Saturday evening we'll enjoy a roast beef dinner complete with jumbo Yorkshire puddings! Aaron came to experience these only in the past 12 years and they are his all time favorite part of the meal. I love them too! We use the 1:1:1 recipe. 1 cup flour 1 cup milk 1 cup eggs. Works everytime. Let me know what you think of them if you try these!

I wish I had your energy to do exercises. Pounds seem to be creaping back on and I soon have to do something about it.

Again, you are BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! I wish you luck with your new Wii toy :o) I have to say, at least it must be a fun way to work out.

I've heard that nasal rinsing really does work! I'm pumping the Cold FX into me the whole winter so hopefully I won't have to resort to that ;o)

Great for you for doing the Wii work outs. I have heard a lot of people love it. Its funny how we have to exercise in order to have more energy.
I will definitely try your Yorkshire recipe the next time - I just can't seem to get mine to rise the way they used to. I thought I had lost my touch but may be a new variation of the recipe will do the trick!
xxxThanks Berta!
